idea 2006

So it's the end of the first day of Idea 2006, a design conference put on by Peter Merholz and the Information Architecture Institute in Seattle. I'm down for the 2 day single-track conference and had an interesting day listening to some great speakers inside a pretty neat building, the Seattle Public Library.

Scott Berkun was blogging up a storm and covered pretty much everything that happened today on the official Idea 2006 blog. Nice to put some faces to some names. And nice to meet some new people, all interested in this bottomless problem of information design (whatever that really means).

I took a lot of notes, but now at the end of a long day is not the time to type them up. Hopefully I'll get around to writing something relevant and insightful at some point in the next day or so. Some good food for thought.

Really looking forward to hearing Dan Hill tomorrow, whose City of Sound site is really something else.
