superweek all done

That's me in the Tour de Delta feedzone, where I handed bottles to my teammates at 40kmh. Delta is a bad feedzone, located at the top of a climb on a false flat, just where the big guns lay it down and drive the pace.
My fellow club members were driving support vehicles for Delta and White Rock, something that's a whole lot of fun if you've never done it before. The best way to watch a race if you can't be in it.
At Gastown, I had my media badge on. Greg Descantes got me doing the official race report. It was picked up by Canadian Cyclist, Pedal, PezCyclingNews and Cyclingnews.com.
And Greg even caught a picture of me looking press-like in the scrum. Well, off to the side of the scrum...
Finally, it was back to the feedzone on Sunday to wrap it up at White Rock. This time, the feed is much slower, thanks to the 12% incline on Magdellan slowing things down. Another hot day, my good old cowboy hat came in handy.

Tim and Kevin, my two teammates came close to making the final group, but were shelled late in the race. A pretty select group of guys finished, with Kirk O'Bee riding off the front for the last 3 small laps. Pretty impressive.
So it's back on the bike, some more hand physio, and hope to try a Tuesday Nighter in the next 2 weeks. It was hard watching Superweek from the sidelines, but just nice to be back on the bike again enjoying some of this fine Vancouver sunshine that has finally showed up. Hard to beat a nice ride on a summer evening in Vancouver.

You might have to get more aggressive in the scrum for your journalism career to take off. Perhaps once "the 5th" is fully healed you'll be ready to bump and grind with those Cameras.
