I worship all your handsome words

To me, you seem giant...

Sloan's Twice Removed Named Top Canadian Album Of All Time .

"Are you sure you didn't open the file from eight years ago by accident?" asks a skeptical Patrick Pentland. He's not totally off the mark — not only did Twice Removed return to its 1996 position, but the #2 and #3 albums (Neil Young's Harvest and Joni Mitchell's Blue, respectively) also returned to their original positions. While this may speak to some sort of stagnancy in the Canadian music industry, from a less cynical viewpoint, it also means that Twice Removed has become a true Canadian classic

That rocks. Insert Chris Murphy scissor kick here.

  • I would also like to point out that my most favourite Canadian band The Lowest of the Low take the seventh spot on that very same list for their 1991 debut album "Shakespeare My Butt...". The album became one of the best-selling independent releases in Canadian history (although it was eclipsed in the same year by Barenaked Ladies' Yellow Tape). Not bad for an indie band that imploded shortly after the album's release and didn't reunite until November 2000. I flew from Vancouver to Toronto to see that show. A $600 flight to see a $20 bar show at the Warehouse... what else could a loyal fan do?
