christmas cactus
After a few years of not blooming, the Christmas Cactus (Schlumbergera bridesii) that sits on my desk by the window is in glorious bloom at the office right now. Right on queue. Couldn't have timed it any better. I'm impressed. It's been great to watch over the past week.
I noticed buds only a week or two ago and now it's going crazy.

maybe next week you should talk about that housewarming plant you gave me. it's like 10 feet tall now. i had to buy a bigger house just to contain it.
