hyundai tv ad

12 hrs of work, 3 seconds of footage

One day this summer in August I took the day off work to go... work. I was hired by ActionTalent to do a Hyundai TV ad for their new Ascent. A bunch of us cyclist types had to pretend to race in a parking lot down at Spanish Banks. They made us ride through the start/finish area (150m long?) once every 5 or 10 minutes for like 6 hours as they did this time lapse shot with a crazy camera on rails. I wound up riding 30km that day, in 30 second increments. I saw the final product in a movie theatre in Eugene, Oregon, of all places, when I was there in September. Now it's online for the rest of the world to see (I suppose people with cable TV might be able to see it too) at the company that did the spot: Method Studios.
