and here we go...

After messing about in earnest with Blogger for the past couple of weeks, I'm finally up and running with the website. I first created my account some 4 years ago to the day on Blogger, but never did publish anything, other than a sample index page. And the last time I actively maintained a homepage (do they still call them homepages?) was over 8 years ago. And thanks to the magic of the WayBack Machine, I found it a few nights ago. It even looks kinda bloggish.

Back in those days, I remember having a conversation about how homepages would be seen as the pet rock of the 90's. While I cringe at some of the stuff I've found online that I wrote nearly 10 years ago, it is fun to go back and read it. Marking the passage of time, one bad-ass HTML 2.0 page after another.

And so we start this blog in medias res, 11 years after my introduction to the Internet and 10 years of building websites and web applications for a living. It seems like an exciting time yet again in the world of software, with some extremely smart people doing some very cool things, and discussing some really great ideas.

Time to contribute and participate.
